Started the slow read today listening on Audible but now I think I need to get a physical copy because there are so many quotes I need to highlight (and reread over and over).
Have already done the slow read (alone!) on this one and highly recommend. He has some great tips - like shove your ms in a drawer for at least 6 weeks once you finish - that are spot on. Enjoy!
Wow, not a wasted word in this book — and SO many vivid scenes that will haunt me forever, I’m not even sure which one Sarah is referencing in the video! 🤣
Here we go! Liz and I used to work with someone who never wrote in or even dog eared his books, which I get, but is so not me. I star and underline and put brackets and notes in the margins. One thing I’ve been noticing and underlining in the section coming up is how (& how often) SK uses repetition— one of the things we’ll be discussing in the next video!
I don't generally write in books, but I found On Writing among my deceased father's books and have started reading it. It is so nice to see his notes and underlines, dog eared pages, etc. Thanks for this slow read.
I’m so happy you’re doing the slow read. After hearing three people reference On Writing in the same week I bought a copy.

I loved Bird by Bird, but I've not read this yet. Looking forward to the slow read!
You two look great in this video! Can't wait to get started on this book.
Thanks!

This is one of my favorite books on writing—and generally. So excited for the Slow Read
